A visit to the National Trust property of Waddesdon Manor

On our way home from our recent visit to southern England we stopped of at a National Trust property of Waddesdon Manor. This was a Rothschild country estate before it was donated to the National Trust. I must say it is quite impressive (Grade 1 listed) but also a bit different in that it is managed by a Rothschild trust, not the National Trust. Here are some of the photos I took on our visit:

A view of the rear of the manor seen from the footpath when you walk from the car park

We first had some lunch at the cafe in the stables after which we followed a woodland path back around to the house. On the way we saw a dead hedge – it it funny how these are now being seen in so many places:

A dead hedge in the woodland near the stables
A display of tulips near the manor
The impressive front of the manor
The fountain at the end of the lawns of the front garden
A view across the lawns to the front of the house
One corner of the house seen walking around the the gardens at the rear
A view of the formal gardens at the rear of the house
Tulips in the formal gardens
Some of the parkland on the walk back to the car park

Finally a #imagedump of the processed photos:
