Audley End in September

At the end of last month we paid our first visit to the English Heritage site of Audley End – a fine stately home in extensive parkland and gardens – also the source of the best scones I have had visiting a stately home (sorry National Trust!). Below I show a selection of views that I took on this fine day – all were taken hand-held using a compact camera, including the panoramic views:

A panoramic view of the house from the gardens. This was taken fairly close to the house which causes the curvature distortion
A closer view of the door that overlooks the garden
A beautiful Cedar of Lebanon close to the house
Bridge and boathouse on the River (Cam?)
One of the features in the Pond Garden. This is a panoramic view (to get everything in) made from 3 photos
