Miscellaneous sphere projections:

I have been experimenting with sphere projections just to see what happens. This first set is using a view of some flowers in our garden:

A sphere projection, with my ‘kl1’ art effect, of some flowers in the garden
A closer in view of the same base image but with a different ‘angle of view’

This next image pair is of the starting point image before the sphere projection is used. This has had my ‘kl1’ art effect applied. Drag the slider bar to see the starting image before the art effect is applied:

Starting image in the garden before any art effects or projections are applied
The same garden image but with my ‘kl1’ art effect applied

This final image pair is of a large pine cone that I used as a subject for trying ‘focus stacking’. I looked at the result and wondered how a ‘sphere’ projection would look. Drag the slider to see the underlying starting image:

The stem end of a large pine cone
The same image but processed with a ‘sphere’ effect

I was quite surprised how this last image turned out. You just don’t know until you try…
