Rats in the Polytunnel

Rat bait in the polytunnel was going at an alarming rate so I set up my wildlife camera to see how it was being taken:

A rat (or maybe more although there was only ever one at a time in the images) kept appearing throughout the night to nibble away at the poison. Sometimes it would nibble away then return after a few minutes, other times it would disappear for an hour or so before returning.

For this set of images I was supplementing the on-camera infra-red lamps with additional IR lighting – this does help give a clearer picture.

As the camera was working on time-lapse, I have selected out those photos of the rat nibbling the bait and assembled a video:
