Experimenting with marbles and laser pointers

I like to experiment. Unless I try different subjects and techniques I would get bored with doing the same old thing time after time. This experiment is with a bunch of marbles and 3 colours of laser pointers. It didn’t work well but not every experiment does – that’s the whole point of experimenting!

Here are a few results from this session, starting with a boring photo of the marbles illuminated by a white LED panel:

The collection of marbles simply illuminated by white light.

This next photo is a composite of 6 photos illuminated by the red laser, 3 illuminated by the green laser, and 5 illuminated by the blue-violet laser:

A composite from 14 separate photos of the marbles creating a red-green-blue coloured effect

Not a brilliant result but interesting. I also tried illuminating a single marble with the different laser pointers. This is the result from 3 blue, 4 red and 5 green images:

This I found more interesting. You may think I have ‘lost my marbles’ but I can assure you that they are all present and correct…
