Nearscapes gallery rebuilt with new views andd interactive versions

Nearscapes is a term that I use for my (mostly) panoramic photos of views that are wide views of subjects closer to hand, or, to quote from the web page for Nearscapes: Whereas landscapes show the world as we see it – the broad sweeping vistas (often in panoramic format) – Nearscapes get that bit closer to the detail.

Due to the nature of the definition of a Nearscape, the views tend to be a bit unusual; this view is of the blossom of runner beans growing in the garden:

Runner beans growingWith some of the images I have created interactive (or VR – Virtual Reality) views that enable you to zoom in and out or pan around the image. Below is one of my favourites as a photo:

flowering currant NearscapeThis image works as a printed photograph (I have an impressive 45 in. print at home), a web image and an interactive view which you can see on the Nearscapes page.  It may surprise you to know, but the images that comprise of this photo (15 in all) were taken on a compact camera.

I have spent quite a bit of time rebuilding this gallery, and building the interactive views for many of the photographs. There are even some 360 degree views (with their VR versions). This one shows a view taken in the polytunnel:
