Trees and Tatton Park Flower Show #5from7photo

Two distinct subjects this week – Something obscuring a view and the RHS flower show at Tatton Park.

This week I was taking photos of the trees visible from my garden when I noticed something small was getting in the way:

I looked at the view and couldn’t see anything, looked at the lens but that was clear. I was puzzled for a minute or two until I looked at the scene from the level of the camera. A few yards away there were some tall grasses with seed heads that had grown dramatically with the recent spell of hot weather and they were in the line of sight of the lens. Once these were removed I then had a better view:

This is a view I am taking at regular intervals for a type of time-lapse video over a period of a year.

This week we went to the RHS flower show at Tatton Park. An interesting, albeit a hot, day. Here are a couple of photos:

I don’t normally go for ‘double’ flowers but this one I liked – a double lily: Lilium ‘Sarah Bernhardt’
A bromeliad display that caught my eye

One bonus of the day was seeing a small ornamental tree similar to one that my wife is growing from seed. This enabled her to find the name of it:

Taken as a reference for the name: Albezia julibrissin. Better than a notepad!

We will have to wait a few years to get something similar.
