Panorama Tours: Initial impressions

I have been trying out different software for creating interactive panorama tours:

Get Adobe Flash player

I have looked at many products, tried out 3 trial versions, and I am homing in on one: Pano2vr. This is currently in trial mode as I haven’t made the final decision to buy just yet although I am impressed with its capabilities.

However, the documentation is a bit variable so I have been frustrated at times in trying to understand the work-flow and getting things to work. On the other hand, when I sent an email to the support desk asking some questions, I was gob-smacked to get a phone call the following day – the guy was very helpful.

In the above example I have been able to link 2 ‘partial’ panoramas and a ‘flat’ (ordinary) photo, add hotspots to click on, zoom in and out, insert sounds (one of which is directional) and provide links to other photos and text. Quite impressive software.

On the basis of the work so far, I am now talking to a contact at a Wildlife Trust about quoting for a project later on in the spring.

This is currently featuring in my Garden Photography page.
