Beth Chatto’s Garden

We paid a visit to Beth Chatto’s Garden yesterday:

We enjoyed our time there – as it was lunchtime when we arrived we had some lunch first: I had what transpired to be the largest Ploughmans that I have ever had – with more bread available should I want it.

As for the garden, it was pleasant to walk around to see the planting, the ponds and how the different levels of the garden were arranged.

There were some interesting plants but what really took my eye was the ‘bug hotels’:

A nice garden, but of a totally different character to East Ruston Old Vicarage which still remains our favourite – it has more WOW factor!

These photos were all taken as snapshots using a compact camera. Still, I would like the opportunity to use my DSLR on a tripod to take a ‘proper’ set of photographs.
