Family and family photos

I think having good relationships with your family, or extended family are important. Me and my siblings are mostly scattered around the south-eastern parts of the UK, with one living in California.

This means that all of us getting together doesn’t happen very often, but Sunday was an opportunity for a family gathering as my brother and his wife were over from the US for a short visit. Naturally, photos were taken to record the event:

This shows our 88 year old mother (dad passed away over 20 years go) with all her children and their spouses and partners. As you can see it was a happy event.

Some different groupings were taken, such as mum with just her children:

Lunch was a load of fun with lots of laughter and gentle ribbing between the brothers. A happy event.

Why is it so important? For one thing you don’t know how long we will be able to do this: mum is getting increasingly frail and one brother has prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

My recommendation? Take an opportunity to get together and spread the love. And take photographs to record the event – future generations will treasure it.
