Pigs at night

One night this week I set up my wildlife camera to record what the two pigs our neighbours keep do overnight (keeping the pigs with our neighbours is a joint project if you’ll excuse the pun!). These were reportedly quite active at night but the images showed they spent most of the night asleep.

The camera was set in time-lapse mode taking one image about every six seconds. Even so, there were over 7,500 photos taken. At night it illuminates the nearer parts of the scene with its built-in IR (infra red) lamps. Using some of the photos taken I constructed a video of the most active parts of the night:

And this shows the camera and lighting setup – I supplement the on-camera IR lights with two battery powered external IR lamps:
