We recently had another walk around our nearest National Trust property of Shugborough. We caught it at a good time – the daffodils were still in flower and the tulips were flowering as well. On the fine sunny day we had a most pleasant visit, helped by a light lunch in the cafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a selection of the photos taken on the day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First is a dead-hedge. We hadn’t heard of these until a couple of years ago but these are now being created in a number of places we visit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the river there is a large sweep of daffodils. Considering this area was flooded a few months ago they seem to be thriving:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I loved the stunning colour of these tulips – this image shows a little of the planting with some daffodils in the background:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
