{"id":9384,"date":"2025-03-28T14:30:29","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T14:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/?p=9384"},"modified":"2025-03-28T14:30:29","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T14:30:29","slug":"a-digitised-negative-from-1996","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/?p=9384","title":{"rendered":"A digitised negative from 1996"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From my previous post I have selected one negative to illustrate some points with digitising negatives using consumer grade film cameras &#8211; in this case an Olympus \u00b5(mju) 35mm camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What I have discovered from this exercise is that, essentially, standards were lower: A &#8216;supersize&#8217; print was 6&#8243; x 4&#8243;; silk paper was used to disguise imperfections; and the lens quality appears to be poorer than modern lenses. This example is a photo of our garden at the time. I think not. At the time I was pleased (on most occasions) with the prints and it was rare (and expensive!) to go larger.
