The Hafod Estate in Ceredigion, Wales is the remains of a what used to be a country estate. Now looked after by the National Trust it is also a commercial forest. As is typical of much of Wales, it is full of small steep valleys and fast running streams. But it is accessible and possible to walk over many of the paths through the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These photos were taken during a short holiday nearby in May last year. For these photos I used my infra-red converted camera with a vintage lens on it. Here is a selection of photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My understanding is that these streams flow into the River (Afon) Ystwyth – the old mining village of Cwm Ystwyth is nearby and the town of Aberystwyth is a few miles away on the coast where the Ystwyth runs into the sea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
