Earlier this year I joined the RPS (Royal Photographic Society) and within this I joined one of their ‘eCircles’ which is a small group of people who discuss processing techniques for photographs. Each month a member submits a photograph for the group to work on to show and discuss the methods they use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month I submitted one of my infra-red images for the discussion. I used this as an opportunity to try out different techniques using my image. The results are below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the above image, I converted the infra-red image to a monochrome sepia tinted view, then blended it with a photo of some mother of pearl to give some texture to the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second version I used an ‘etching’ technique that I am developing – this fired up a good discussion of how I achieved the effect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
