On Sunday, it was the day scheduled for the demolition of the 4 cooling towers at the old Rugeley power station. I went to record the event as a volunteer for the ‘Transforming The Trent Valley’ project. We had previously surveyed a good position to record the event but arrived early as large crowds were expected – in this respect we were not disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather was a bit of a disappointment: Dull and drizzly with the towers shrouded in mist to start with. I had 2 cameras recording video and one doing interval shooting for a ‘Transition Time Lapse’. Below I show 5 of the images from the camera doing the interval shooting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quite a large landscape transformation for the ‘Transforming The Trent Valley Project’. For this project, land next to the site is to be a nature reserve managed by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
