Here are a few more views from last week’s visit to these gardens:<\/p>\n

As before, all these photos were taken with my compact camera. This is a view of some species tulips in the Dessert Wash garden. Alan and Graham liked this enough to make this the main photo on their facebook page.<\/p>\n

This feature, just north of the Walled Garden, is a sundial. It has several small faces around the circumference about 2\/3rds of the way up. I was please with this as I didn’t think the detail in the clouds would show – an advantage of shooting ‘raw’ – in the jpgs most of the bright areas were burnt out but here they are more controlled.<\/p>\n

This flower was on an indoor plant in the greenhouse within the Diamond Jubilee Walled garden.<\/p>\n

And this final one shows a new sculpture south of the Mediterranean Garden.<\/p>\n

I was using my compact camera as we were out for most of the day and I didn’t want to lug the bigger camera around nor leave it in the car. With a bit of care, knowledge and the appropriate software, a decent compact camera can produce quite acceptable results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
