I am reworking some of my galleries consolidating them into one and reworking images in the light of 1) more experience, 2) improved and new software and 3) increased knowledge:<\/p>\n

What a difference! For this photo, the ‘before’ was the standard ‘out of camera’ jpg file, the ‘after’ was a processed ‘raw’ file that captures more of the light at the extremes; in this case preserving a lot more detail in the sky (highlights) and in the darker areas (shadows) such as the tree.<\/p>\n

My processing of photos is going through an overhaul following the reading of some large textbooks on both Lightroom and Photoshop – I may talk about this in more detail in a later post.<\/p>\n

So far in this new gallery I have started on the ‘Smallholding and Farming’ section and have a few entries in the ‘Views’ section. This will be added to as the weeks progress. With this gallery I am not just moving entries from the old galleries but I am re-processing as many photos as I can – this does take time though.<\/p>\n

Here is another reprocessed photo, this time of doves in a dovecote:<\/p>\n

Not quite so dramatic as the first pair of photos, but the slight yellowish colour cast has gone and the colours are richer.<\/p>\n
