We visited these gardens, during the public visiting hours, a couple of days before they closed for the season – the following day was forecast for heavy rain and on the final day I was committed to an activity with my camera club.<\/p>\n

I managed to use my fish-eye lens in the Exotic Garden but only three images were reasonably successful. The problems I had were with some of the clouds and sky burning out to pure white. However, with some manipulation I managed to achieve these:<\/p>\n

\"pond<\/a>This image, taken with the fish-eye lens, looks across the pond to the arbour. The sun was getting quite low but still managed to illuminate the clouds very brightly. In this view I really like the goldfish in the middle of the view.<\/p>\n

I also took a portrait version:<\/p>\n

\"pond<\/a>The only other image that worked was this view:<\/p>\n

\"flower<\/a>Although most of this view is in shadow there are a couple of sunlit patches. I do like the tones, especially the greens in the foreground.<\/p>\n

Although care is needed with this lens, I do enjoy the perspective it gives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
