Whatever I did I couldn&#8217;t improve upon this. So I tried lighting from the side. The first images showed I needed a reflector on the other side to help illuminate the far side (I used a large plant label that was to hand!). The following was obtained:<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2863\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/09\/first-steps-in-photo-microscopy-part-2\/e12_5624w1\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2863\" title=\"E12_5624w1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/E12_5624w1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"side lighting\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/E12_5624w1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.pmstudios.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/E12_5624w1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 85vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>A big improvement on the first image.
