For this month’s workshop we decided to have an outdoor session:<\/p>\n

\"Local<\/a>Although we booked the village hall, at the previous meeting we decided that, weather permitting, we would have an outdoor session at the nearby river centre and church on the Norfolk Broads. Although the weather wasn’t raining it was still quite a cold, blustery day with clouds frequently passing in front of the sun.<\/p>\n

I spent quite a lot of the time in and around this local church. Although the majority of English churches have straight square towers, Norfolk is known for having many with round towers. This one is different for it has this strange, stepped, square tower. It also has a thatched roof which is not common although there are a few in the locality. The above photo is a straight shot to give context to other photos that I have taken.<\/p>\n

Like all the photos I am showing here, the photos have only had some exposure processing done to them.<\/p>\n

In this next shot I wanted to show the base of the church so I could make a pun about ‘the foundations of the Church of England’:<\/p>\n

\"church<\/a>I was pleased how this turned out with sufficient depth of field.<\/p>\n

I did have a walk around the river centre but had trouble finding anything inspiring to photograph. This was the only photograph of the river and a boat that I took:<\/p>\n

\"Boat<\/a>A pleasant enough photograph but not outstanding.<\/p>\n

This final image was taken of the low-lying marshy ground to the side of the river. Like a lot of the land around here, it lies below the level of the river.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I found the landscapes and riverscapes quite difficult on this day. I took a lot more of the church. I will show some of these when I have processed them.<\/p>\n
