Last year I made a visit to this local church to take some exploratory photos of the interior:<\/p>\n

\"Stockton<\/a>This visit was primarily about seeing what I could do in photographing the interior of this old church (it dates back to Saxon times). For these photos, as the light levels were quite low, I needed to place the camera on a tripod. Now that I have learnt some lessons I need to make another visit.<\/p>\n

The first photo that I show is of the font. This is by the entrance, opposite the vestry.\u00a0 I did a fairly wide shot to show the setting, including the door to the vestry. I think this has worked quite well but it may have been better if the camera was slightly lower. I also need to see if I can move the camera back a little to see if I can include more of the plinth.<\/p>\n

In the next view I show the aisle leading to the altar and stained glass window.<\/p>\n

\"Aisle<\/a>I am pleased with this apart from the red rug under the altar – it seems to glow here but was not so obvious when I was editing the photo – I need to watch out a bit more for this in future. I like the way the detail has been captured in the roof – in a ‘straight’ exposure this is very dark.<\/p>\n

In the final image I show a flower arrangement by one of the windows of the church:<\/p>\n

In this image, I like the subtle tones of the arrangement- there is a lot of detail in flowers with some wonderful transitions of tones. I also like the fact that you can see detail through the window – it is not burnt out to white.<\/p>\n

There were also many photos that didn’t work out, but as a learning exercise it worked quite well and I should be able to do better next time.<\/p>\n
