In early June 1975 we continued through Cameroon heading for the Central African Republic. We had to drive quickly through the night to exit before our visas expired. They should have been able to be extended free of charge but the immigration department at the airport wanted a lot of money to do so – the only real problem so far with officialdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, here is a selection of photos of the rest of the trip though the Cameroon and RCA to Bangui from 3rd to 11th June 1975:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stopped by this river for a couple of nights where we tried to catch fish using a bucket:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a night of heavy rain we need to dry out. I wrote up my diary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route took as through the B\u00e9nou\u00e9 National Park. We tried fishing with a line from the bridge and caught enough fish for dinner that night:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further on, I stayed behind with the Land Rover while the others went to visit a local chief or Sultan using the Transit which got stuck on this makeshift bridge nearly toppling into the river. This was around Rey Bouba:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had not long crossed into the RCA when we stopped for this view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had to ford a stream of unknown depth. This is me driving the Land Rover across. The Transit followed different course and did not go so deep:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading towards our next destination of Bangui, we passed many towns and villages. This is the market at Bossembele:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
