Berrington Hall is a National Trust property in Herefordshire. As this was close to where we were staying we decided to pay a visit. This is a selection of my photos from the day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was an extensive walled garden which had a large orchard within it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the trees were labelled; there were many old varieties which I found interesting. Although given over to wild flowers there were mown avenues between the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amongst the flowers there were places to sit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I must admit the exterior of the house didn’t impress me, just a large square box:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, parts of the interior were very impressive, especially the ceiling:<\/p>\n\n\n

For this next view of a ceiling, I had to use panorama techniques to get it all in:<\/p>\n\n\n

In some of the rooms there were interesting mirrors – I used these as an experiment to show the inside of the rooms:<\/p>\n\n\n

Many windows had sun screens on them. So I experimented by taking a photograph of the landscape through the screen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, there was another ceiling I couldn’t resist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was an interesting place to visit. A lot of work was being done so would be worth another visit when we are in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
