Photography tutorials by Paul L.G. Morris
Guides for the inexperienced and new photographers (and some more advanced ones!)
Paul as a tutor
Paul teaches for the WEA (the UK's largest adult education charity) introducing digital photography to beginners and those having trouble understanding how to use their cameras. Some of these tutorials are based on the content of the courses that Paul prepares and runs for the WEA. Feedback from one of these courses resulted in the Digital Photography Glossary.
Paul can also run short courses for individuals and small groups and organisations within East Anglia - see the Local Services Page. Note that Paul has qualified as a tutor for adult learners (the qualification is known as PTLLS).
About these tutorials
Most of these tutorials, as they get written, are intended as a guide to the new and inexperienced photographer. In addition, Paul will try and cover other more advanced topics, techniques and subjects that are not (or rarely) included in the photographic press or magazines - he sees no point in duplicating work done many times by others.
These tutorials will be created on an ad-hoc basis - keep an eye on the website or subscribe to the RSS newsfeed (at the bottom of the page) to see when new ones are created.
Digital Photography Glossary
This is a glossary for newcomers to digital photography. It covers a range of terms that you may come across. The glossary can be viewed as a web page.
I have a (digital) camera, now what?
This is a new set of tutorials based on Paul's experience running courses for those who have a digital camera but need help using it. New lessons will be added at the rate of at least 2 a month, so check back often or subscribe to the news feed to see when the next tutorial is ready.
Other Tutorials
Paul also has other tutorials, either published or in progress covering more advanced techniques. These are detailed in the tutorial listing page.

The Author and Photographer:
One of Paul's photographic activities is to teach beginners how to use their digital cameras. Most of these people have quite basic cameras although some have more advanced models. Topics that Paul teaches include the mechanics of using a camera, composition, through to loading the images to a computer and preparing them for email and printing.
