Experience of writing:
Paul is an experienced author whose writing covers a broad range of magazines. He makes a speciality writing in a manner that explains technical issues in a way that the lay, or inexperienced, person can read whilst maintaining the interest of the advanced reader.
Writing about the natural environment and countryside:
Living on, and running, a smallholding enables Paul to see an aspect of life that makes a welcome contrast to the computing industry where he started his writing. This has led to him writing for a diverse range of magazines associated with the countryside, smallholding and country living. In addition, more articles are in preparation for a wider range of publications. Details of items authored by Paul are shown on the Countryside Writing page
Writing on computing for an international audience:
Paul started this career with writing technical articles for the specialist computer magazine iSeries News which, although published in the USA, has a world-wide market. The target audience for this magazine ranged from beginners to experienced professionals. Paul's writing had to explain complex ideas and processing in a manner that was simple, yet informative, for this diverse audience. These activities also led onto writing a regular technical tips column and their first blog.
Writing about computing for a specialist UK audience:
The UK edition of the magazine, known as iSeries News UK, is still a technical read although it does not go to the same depth that the US magazine does. For this periodical, Paul has written on a number of articles covering background computing concepts and, more recently, on issues relating to websites and web design.
