Tintern Abbey is a Cistercian abbey that was founded around 1131, the second one established in Britain. Compared to many others, it is remarkably complete with extensive remains of the church, cloister and associated monastic buildings. It is situated in the beautiful Wye valley. In many of the images in this set of photos, I have tried to pick views and details not seen in the tourist brochures.
